We have had a few emails about the robbery at Tups shop, He has had a mountain bike and cd player stolen, this is absolutely deplorable the man is putting his time and effort into a charitable scheme which is trying to get funds to keep St Giles afloat. These people should be totally and utterly ashamed, If anybody sees or hears anything please inform the police as soon as possible. The other crime that has occured at Tups is the absolute disgrace of the council charging the shop for rates, surely they could waver the rates, as the shop would have been stood empty anyway and we dont think he is going to use any amenities while he is at the shop. By doing this charitable deed he is recycling unwanted goods, so keeping it from being thrown away and saving landfill. If the council are charging £450 in rates this means it is £450 of the Church fund so in the long run the council are making money out of a charity and this procedure is illegal. We will email Natascha to see where she stands on this issue, she opened three shops that were businesses and profit making, so why cant she back a charity. keep you intouch

You must remember, this council and it's money grabbing band of nothing less than detritus has to think of fortress labour and it's ivory towers they are “labour” you only have to look at what a fine example the government are setting. As for the thieves IF! they are caught the usual retort will be “well they have nothing to do”and let of by the liberally minded justice system this country has developed, after all this council is doing nothing more than STEALING money from charity they should be treat with the same respect as common thieves. The whole shit load of them are in it for one thing “I'M ALRIGHT JACK PULL THAT F*****G LADDER UP”. They are all bellow contempt, and to a man should hang their heads in shame, but we all know Lord Charles and his band of crooks can do no wrong in their own eyes, blinded by self induced grandeur and importance.(not forgetting the expenses!) nice little Christmas earner from the church fund.
I HOPE THEY ALL SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT!
As for "Tup" and his shop he should be commended to the highest level for his effort and time a finer example of community spirit would be hard to find anywhere in this country at this present time, it's just a pity those in power haven't got the same morals and think of someone else for a change!
WELL DONE TUP!

Can rroka find out the reasoning behind the council charging a charity rates, in a shop that was'nt being used for anything else except going damp and being run down, you would think the council would jump at the chance for it to be occupied for security reasons as well as a bit of maintanance this man is a shining light in a dark world of corruption and evil if he packs up tomorrow I would not blame him. The council should be brought to book about this charge they would not be getting anything if it was boarded up so why rob a charity as we know the council keep an eye on this website so why dont they comment are the comments to near the truth

The council DAREN'T show their feelings or opinions in public as they know someone will oppose them, a precept unheard of in the ivory towers that rule over Lord Charles's cloud cuckoo land, they only make decisions behind closed doors in the darkened rooms that we the council tax payer contribute to and remain un-invited. I personally am not surprised as to how low these hypocritical morons can stoop they never cease to amaze me as to how their deprived little minds work.
Maybe the next time a gathering of these scroungers takes place a builder could be found to build a wall around the ivory towers and keep them all inside, not a new idea,I think at one time they were called asylums a very apt place for these mentally deprived beings who are supposed to represent the feelings of the village. I want it firmly understood not one of them represents the way I feel, I am almost ashamed to say I live in Killamarsh but only for the way in which these fools take it upon themselves to grin and gloat all over the “Leader” in their own inimitable style when they consider they have achieved some glorious momentous pinnacle of civic duty and parade in self backslapping exorcises to the glory of the camera and the disgust of right thinking people.
I SPIT ON THE LOT OF THEM!

What a shame, how can the council charge rates on a man who has taken the time and trouble to start a CHARITY shop (the clue is in the name) to try and keep our heritage and our lovely church standing. Me thinks if it had been a charity for a new mosque the council would probably have donated the rate money to build a bigger and better building than our church with lovely green minerets – maybe like the one in Sheffield looking over us all - after all we cant be seen to be racist now can we !!!
And as for those little theives stealing the goods bring back the public stocks I say what a lovely place we live.

I hope you didn't really expect an answer from that piece of human detritus she works on the assumption that if you ignore the problem long enough it will go away,it does appear to be the “new labour”strategy from top to bottom, their ignorance is only surpassed by the total disdain and contempt they hold the people that put them there in the first place.Remember this at the forthcoming election.
It is after all the district council that wants their two and a half stone of flesh(most people only wanted a pound but they weren't labour oriented)The parish council SHOULD step in to help solve this problem, BUT WE KNOW THEY WONT dont want to upset the gravy train do we ?

The expenses the parish councillors get would cover the cost of the rates for Tups shop so they should pass them on, they keep saying they want to do something for the village, nows the time for them to show it

Nice to see the shop is running into disrepair, all this time Tup could have been using it for charity and the council would still have made the same revenue. They would rather it go to the wall than let somebody make money for charity, me thinks ullterior motive for the premises.

Is this a privately owned shop or does it belong to the council? Bit of a paradox regarding rates, charities and empty buildings. If the building has a rateable value less than £15,000 (and I'll assume it does) then there are no rates payable whilst its empty. If it was rented by a registered charity then it would be liable for rates at 50% of that charged to a business.
Clearly TUP whilst doing a fine job to raise money for the church and or charity is unikely to be a registered charity.
