Again no gritters no snowploughs in Killamarsh again havent the council taken the lessons in from last year, there has been even less grit and snowploughs we are sure you can sue the council if they have not tried at all to clear the roads and the emergency services cannot get to your house because of it. If a few four by four cars can get through were sure a big snowplough can get through. The picture is of the manor estate. For original size photo go to main page thanks

Could the person who took the photo of the Manor Estate please let the council have a copy and directions on how to find it,surely a duty of care arises here,what happens if we need ANY emergency services up here,this has now gone far beyond the realms of stupidity even for our knuckle munching,window licking,in-bred councilors,they can take me to court for my council tax next year they aint getting A SINGLE BRASS WASHER!!!!
YOUNG Mr.JT BOTHAM FOR COUNCIL LEADER !!!!!!! NOW

The only plough your going to see in killamarsh is the one in the stars on a clear night, as for the gritters there as rare as Hitler winning a humanity award. If you remember last winter the parish council said they were responsible for the paths, and the county council were responsible for the roads, if this is true nothing will get done because the parish council will say they cannot get out because the roads havent been gritted and the county council wont come out because the parish council will have told them not to do the roads because they will have to do the paths means helping people and they dont want to do that do they.

Here's a thought and a praise.
Bryony Close has a new full grit bin end of last week – we asked for one after last years snow and said we'll sort the road, give us some grit.
Tuesday morning neighbours out and in 20 years of living here the road was the clearest in heavy snow Ive know. Not the same today as there really was too much yesterday but it will have to be moved by us to get to Walford Road.
I walked down to Bridge Street at teatime last night and all the main roads are covered in compacted snow, probably sheet ice by tomorrow. So no snow ploughing, and not enough traffic flow to get the grit on the road surface working.
Question Why no snow ploughs? Answer because snow ploughs are difficult to operate on roads with traffic control humps, the drivers need to know when to lift the blades to avoid damage to blade or road. Problem – Sheffield Road, Bridge Street, Walford Road all have humps. Unless signs are provided at the side of the road prior to the humps to warn the driver it seems unlikely that we will ever get a snow plough.
However there are roads with out humps – can they be ploughed?
Farmers with tractors and snow ploughs? what happened when and why did they stop assistinc councils to clear roads.
Construction Workers – JCBS perfect to shift the snow any on contract if they are unable to work to help?

Thanks for the reply, we have been looking at the snowploughs that operate in the peak district and Dore and Totley in Sheffield where we work, and when the ploughs come to the humps they lift automatically because of a spring loaded system and dont slow down or anything which does'nt damage the hump. The older models they have, go over the humps as they have support wheels at the front of the plough which enables them to ride over the hump lifting the plough on its springs these ploughs are set at a different angle more straight but still does a good job we are sure the county council have these ploughs as they are now standard issue because of the very point you have mentioned, when they designed them they took speed humps into account. As for the question about the farmers with tractors we saw Mark Hewitt and Jeremy White cleaning the roads at Norwood which we are very gratefull to, but they may be stopped in future as your not supposed to do it because the powers that be say your not insured and cannot use your common sense and kindness because the council wont make anything out of it. LOL

The farmers stopped assisting the council to clear the roads when after clearing the roads at the councils request, they were BILLED for damage done to cats eyes,as for plough blades damaging speed bumps the blade is fitted with small wheels to travel a set distance above the road surface thus riding over said humps but close enough to the road surface for the salt to have an effect,could any of our councilors now think up another excuse that may have the slightest plausibility as to WHY we still haven't seen a plough or gritter, DO NOT TREAT US ALL AS HALFWITS,we can't ALL get on the council it's full of deadheads already.Further excuses will be treat with the contempt they deserve. COUNCILORS GET OFF YOR FAT IDLE ARSES AND GET SOMETHING DONE NOW !!!!!!!!!
PS I notice at the time I am writing this rant we have three guests also browsing the site could they be councilors looking for praise I wonder? or just wondering what the people of the village think of them I DO HOPE I'VE UPSET THE TW*TS!!!!!!!!

Gritters out today 03/12/2010 9.30 am went round Highmoor no snowplough on front and grit being shot int the hedge on one side and nothing coming out on the other lack of maintainance comes to mind what a farce. The people that got together and cleaned there own roads can put in for a rate rebate as you have done the work for the council who have been paid for it. Why not get young offenders cleaning round the bungalows or send them on errands supposed to be doing payback. If the council say it would cost to much not as much as the invisible snowploughs and gritters were paying for.

Still nothing on Hut Lane/Upperthorpe Road apart from pack ice now a few 4x4s have ventured up,has nothing been heard of our illustrious band of scroungers, they can take ME to court over my council tax this year then they can pay back the wages I've lost I'm having to turn work down because of their NEGLIGENCE.

We have had a few emails on the not getting to work issue. We believe somebody in another council area took the council to court for lose of income due to the council not attempting to clean the roads around his house. (We are still looking into this), but on the account we have heard, is that his case was upheld because the council had all the means available but just did'not turn out, if they had attempted to go out and got stuck or just got to the A roads he would not have had a claim we will keep you informed when we can affirm this. So the killamarsh folks should be able to send there road cleaning bills in to the council, if we spilt oil or paint on the road the council would send us a cleaning bill so whats the difference we've paid out council tax. We need someone with a petition for a vote of no confidence in the council.

START THAT petition I'LL go round with it I've SHAFT ELSE to do can't get my car out to go to work, and before anyone asks why I can't walk to work it's because I don't know where I'm working next, and being an HGV driver if the roads aint cleared whats the point of turning up to be sent home again to enjoy the walk.It's just a pity we can't all work in nice warm council offices,or in the case of Derbyshire County Council's highways department switch the phone to "auto-que" stay at home AND STILL GET PAID!!!!!

Vote of no confidence is the council is called for.
Maybe when they start loosing their seats, there may be some action! Is this going to happen every year? The floods, the snow, when is it going to
stop? We as voters need to take a stand;
they spend our money on what? We pay our
taxes, where are our services?

We are in the process of getting intouch with Natascha Engel we have been inundated with complaints, Killamarsh should now be declared a disaster area and we should now be classed as a third world village and should get charity. Natascha should be ashamed of herself letting councillors grit there own roads and not even attemp to clear the roads for the elderly and infirm. We have been emailing the council for five months now on other issues and they have not had the decency to email back even Nataschas office is cocking a deaf one they dont like us because we tell the truth and dont claim invisible expenses. These people think they are being voted in for there charisma and personality if they were voted in by name and not the party they would never be heard of. If we dont here something from them, then we will kick a fuss up in the European parliament Killamarsh will be known worldwide. We need the backing of the village, to get the village,back as a village not as a stop off for the juntion 30 and 31 drug runners they get off at junction 30 when going north and then carry on back to junction 31 and visa versa when travelling south its so easy and were letting them do it.
//
Engel: All claims for costs 'directly incurred by me'
home costs: Natascha Engel.
By [ehill]
NORTH East Derbyshire MP Natascha Engel claimed for a herb-chopper, can opener, tool kit and more than £1,500 of white goods, in total expenses of £63,431 from 2005 to 2008.
In August and September 2005, she claimed for a dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and kettle at a cost of £1,666.75.
Three months later she got £2,308.95 for furniture from John Lewis. In the next three months to the end of March 2006, she received £504 for kitchen utensils.
She also claimed £2,900 for a John Lewis three-piece corner sofa – but was only given £2,000 – and £235 on a drain survey.
AND WE CANNOT GET OUR ROADS GRITTED

Should'nt be cancelled they have cleaned the leisure centre and not the bungalows on Stanley street, cleaning somewhere for fit and healthy people to walk, and not where old and infirm people reside thats what they think of us.
