Just a little something for your readers has anybody read the IMAGE MAGAZINE that came through the post today. I could not believe what I was reading about killamarsh being a thronging bustling town, and if you want to do traditional shopping and all the rest, killamarsh is the place to be. Call me a bit of a cynic or what you want, but whoever wrote that wants to write for the fantasy channel it is total fabrication from a warped mind whether it is done tongue in cheek, or they have been bullied into saying this, but I think they are writing about another village from a different time warp or something. Please read it I dont want to diss killamarsh but if people from elsewhere read this and come to the village it will dissapoint them quicker than if you had not said anything because there expectations will be higher

Haven't read it but it certainly sounds as though someone's got slightly more than rose tinted glasses on, maybe reflections of the ivory towers have dimmed their views somewhat! We don't seem to get so many of these rags in the mountainous regions the mule routes tend to get washed out with the slightest inclement weather.

Still not reached the mountainous regions, but I've just read with interest an article in The Leader (still don't know if it's true) regarding the switching on of Killamarsh Christmas lights, well done to the contributions of Killamarsh Silver Band,Ebeneezer Gospel Singers,Stepping Out Dance Group and local schools for their choirs, Oh! mustn't forget Santa Claus, no doubt all done with the season of good will in their hearts and very little recompense in their pockets, but can we really afford such a glittering array of superstars to actually throw the switch? M.P. NATASCHA ENGEL, COUNCILLOR LILIAN ROBINSON and of course how could I possibly forget the lime-light grabbing, ever present, look what I'm doing, have you got my good side? Don't forget my pat on the back (I'll claim my expenses later) THE ONE AND ONLY KILLAMARSH COUNCILLOR, COUNTY COUNCILLOR (wait for it) MR. ALLAN CHARLES ( no doubt ably assisted by his charming wife). If the lights are as sparkling as last year how many dignitaries does it take to light a candle. No doubt the expenses sheet will be costlier than the actual decorations, but never mind we'll pay for it on the council tax bill next year.

Its on the grapevine that Natascha and mr Charles are going to put there expenses that they claim for doing nothing, into a fund for the poor and needy of killamarsh and that they are going to make a new years resolution to do something that people can benefit from, and spend money on something that people actually can use, and is usefull, (oh and then the wife came in and woke me up) as if. Why do they only want to be seen at Christmas is there not 365 days in a year where do they hide, they are like Haleys comet, big fizz and a bang then NOTHING.

“IMAGE MAGAZINE” I reckon whoever wrote this is seriously messing with controlled substances, it's certainly a specialist mag. you don't get that sort of half-wit on any old street corner, not without supervision at least. The last time I did any shopping in Killamarsh it's the Co-op! take it or leave it, but please allow plenty of time maybe pack a few sandwiches, sleeping bag etc. as grand prix type service is not their thing, it is rumoured you can buy perishables when you go in and they are out of date when you pay for them. Not knocking it it's the last bastion of tinned beans in Killamarsh!
