I have just been given this to circulate from a very reliable source THIS IS NOT A JOKE  please read and pass on to as many people as possible.

Postal Scam.

As Christmas is fast approaching it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (parcel delivery service)suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911   (This is a premium rate number).

DO NOT PHONE THIS NUMBER! This is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15.00 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact   Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655

THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!

Far to busy counting fat cat bonuses to be bothered with the serfs of this realm or dictatorship or whatever you like to call this Island now. A wise man once told me that "Once we were an Empire and were ruled by an Emperor then we were a Kingdom ruled by a King now we are a Country and look who we've got ruling us!"

Those emails are so much more believable when they have an element of truth, but why lets the facts get in the way if there's another opportunity to have a go at "the powers"

A simple google search on that phone number comes up as follows:

"Simon Moon from This is Money replies: You're right to have a sense of déjà vu about this warning. It's been around for several years and keeps cropping up even though the authorities put a stop to this bunch of crooks some time ago.

This is what the premium rate phone calls regulator PhonepayPlus – previously known as ICSTIS – says about it: 'This number was used on a scam that PhonepayPlus adjudicated on in 2005. This number is no longer running and has not been running since December 2005. If you receive a copy of the email warning you about the alleged scam, please do not forward it to others. Instead, please forward this information from PhonepayPlus

So dispite the fact that it was closed down 4 years ago – its still going round the world emails accounts, just wasting internet space.

This scam warning wasn't sent to me by e-mail, but given to me by a very respected member of Harthill church. I can only apologise if I have wasted anyones time, but my intentions were honourable, I don't have the luxury of time to check the INTERNET on every occasion anyone gives me advice, but if only one scam is stopped, to me it's worth while. If this government and it's quangos gave ANYONE any faith in them maybe these scams wouldn't re-emerge, it's a sorry fact in this country now, all the people in power at any level are interested in is lining their own pockets and couldn't care less about the serfs that put them on their ridiculously high horses to trample all over them in the first place, another rumour I picked up this morning in “Tups ” the cost of the cycle rack at “fortress labour” if this price was correct it's obscene and someone should be held to account,no doubt some one will put me right on the actual cost.I'll just wait see if any prices match the one I was quoted. Perhaps another job for the management at RROKA?

We are still waiting for the minutes to the September, October, and November meetings, this is the email we got from the council. We sent this on the 22 oct and the minutes are still  not on. We need these for the costing to the cycle rack we can only find additional costs of £2900 which does not specify what this was spent on. We emailed again on sat,  we thought we would get a reply but nothing again.

Dear Sir/Madam

Apologies for the delay in responding to your enquiry.  I can confirm that the September and October minutes will be going onto the website once they have been approved at the next meeting scheduled for 2 November 2009.

Thank you

Sharon
