Spinkill newt pond  was the largest around here full to the brim of our native newts yet itwas fiilled in with out a word being said can anyone else remember this pond it was filled in for horses to have more grazing area comments welcome

"All species of newt are protected in Europe. There are laws prohibiting the killing, destruction, and the selling of newts."

and presumably that includes the destruction of their habitat – where they supposed to go if its taken away? Can hardly buy a new pond.
