The County Council Should be totally ashamed of themselves to a man with the state of the counties roads I haven't seen one gritter or snow plough out at all and they have the audacity to try and tell me they are running low on rock salt they must have a stock pile I could fit in my arse pocket!!!!

Not one parish councillor has knocked on a pensioners door and asked if they want there prescriptions or food fetching while the footpaths are impassable not all pensioners have family or friends, the councillors get paid for putting themselves out not keeping themselves in. The parish council supposed to be accountable for the footpaths not one parish council van with any rocksalt has been seen, what do they expect old people to do its unbelievable, we will not see a councillor till Natascha comes back, its hard enough for the young to walk in the snow never mind the old they should hang there heads in shame this issue will not go away. By the way this is what a gritting lorry looks like if nobodies ever seen one.

Just read “The Leader”it would seem Killamarsh isn't the only place to feel let down a little by our County Council although I remain a little puzzled by a quote from a Derbyshire County Council spokesMAN(how un-politically incorrect) “We salt all A roads, most B roads, roads where there are in excess of ten bus journeys per day and other roads where there are substantial traffic flows”.
That proves it then Upperthorpe Road and Hut Lane are officially goat tracks! I'm just wondering if the relevant councils will now revue the council tax charges for the people of the mountainous regions as we don't seem to be accessible by any officially recognised road system, but then again those penny pinching scroungers will probably double it because of our idyllic rural setting along with our peace and solitude. The good news is,as we don't really exist they wont be able to find us(until it comes to elections, council tax reminders etc.etc.)Perhaps we should have some obnoxious religious sect as councillors, they seem to find us with alarming regularity bringing tidings of impending doom and gloom, cheerful bunch of characters they are! If it wasn't for their regularity you could almost be fooled into thinking they were councilors.

Well the snow has finally gone from the goat track, council theory worked,”leave it alone long enough it'll go”,had the mis-fortune to drive up there just after the thaw, had to wait for two ferries to cross the oceans that now form, due to the drains being blocked, yet another by-product of neglect by the illustrious leaders of the councils involved,or not as the case may be.
Just up from the old pit bottom gate I thought work had started to open Highmoor pit up again but no,POT HOLES obviously not caused by extensive gritting but yet again neglect,I suppose the same urgency will be applied to these “new” problems on the goat track as was the urgency to clear a road through the snow, but why bother? just shut the road altogether no repairs,no wingeing,no problem,it'll just go away, how nice it must be in Cuckoo Land (if it wasn't full of half witted, scrounging COUNCILLORS!!!!!!!).

Drove up Hut Lane this morning, THE POT HOLES HAVE BEEN FILLED IN! it does look a bit of a bodge job but no more bone jarring, suspension rattling ride for the time being! WELL DONE THE COUNCIL INVOLVED.Just got to get the drainage problem solved, but by then we won't be able to see for overgrown verges, but at least Hut Lane is back on some sort of map.(till the next snowfall).

Drove up Hut Lane again recently the afore mentioned pot holes were in fact the result of a broken water main resulting action NOTHING! these have been damaged at least three weeks now, some one did attempt to fill the holes but no-one as yet has solved the initial problem am I surprised? not one bit after all it's not classified as a main road, and all the leaks only go on your water bill why should anyone bother. The result of this leak can be clearly seen on any frosty morning from High Moor Pit to Comberwood corner one glassier on the side off the road.

Yet again the snowy mountain pass known locally to some (excluding councilors of any denomination, creed, faith, religion, colour, nationality or with an IQ bigger than their hat size) as Hut Lane/Upperthorpe Road has succumbed to the rigours of winter,TOTALLY BLOCKED not by snow, but by the contempt the local authorities have for the TAX PAYERS OF THIS PARISH, why should they bother, they don't have to struggle as the rest of us do,they can scrounge, not earn their money by phone and inter-net meetings,I would have a little more faith in their sincerity if I saw one even stand near a snow shovel, I'm sure at least one of them has a vague idea as to how one works and I'm sure health & safety would issue the regulation authority to any one of them that wanted to try one out, and supply the training course for them to qualify, but, NO WHY SHOULD THEY BOTHER Any one know the words all sing along now "I'M ALLRIGHT JACK PULL THAT F*&^%$G LADDER UP!!!!!!!!!"
