The violence isn’t confined to the bottom of Killamarsh,a young man was found outside Rai’s store on Delves Road Friday night after suffering a sensless beating he was left with a broken nose and fractured skull and is still in a coma in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in a critical condition. I like many others wish him a speedy and full recovery allthough the second is looking increasingly more unlikely.WHEN are we going to have the village properly policed and make it a safer place to live.The courts must come down harder on the perpetraters of such crimes.Two police officers for the whole of North East Derbyshire is nothing more than ridiculous,why do we pay extra on our council tax for a village constable I do hope it’s not that chocolate bobby I’ve seen on the very rare occasion!!!!thats just bordering on insanity!
@SipsiCymreig
Thank you for bringing this up because, we at rroka read a lot of literature from the council and councillors, and if you got through the post the literature or mini manifesto or load of crap from the labour councillor Alan Charles you will have read and I quote (The antisocial behaviour has come down in killamarsh).I don,t know about you but I think he has employed a certain Hans Christian Anderson to write for him. Other reasons we put a topic in about the skatepark is if they cannot control the youths now how the hell are they going to police another expected 200 hundred. As you know as a resident in killamarsh you only see police in the afternoons, never on a friday or saturday night when the youths are running riot around the wimpey and white city. Getting back to Alan Charles he seems to be forgeting he only gets voted in because it is a labour stronghold, it is not for his charm or charisma, if you put a monkey up for election and it was labour it would get in. He has never done anything for the residents of killamarsh we have sent numerous emails and letters and all he says is it is’nt his problem, Who’s problem is it. We wish the lad who got beat up a speedy recovery ,this is what happens when councillors bury there heads and think everything is getting better. Dont’t forget to vote on thursday. Great to have your comments a lot of people log on and read them.
The skate park and the alcohol exclusion zone are just two more examples of “look what we’ve done!” no thought at all as gone in to the policing of either project they are both just back slapping exercises for the dross some people loosely call an elected representation I for one wouldn’t vote Labour ever again either national or local not even for an M.P’s fiddle its time we found some party to put the “GREAT” back in to Great Britain.
A lot of people have said exactly what you are saying, when they send us comments, but a lot state they don’t want them publishing so we honour there wishes.The backslapping is so false it makes you want to throw up, it is always the same, they always put in the papers what they have pretended to achieve, but its what is not in the papers which concern us more. The council are always shown opening something or other, but they don’t show the closing of everything else (bank, garage, the canal, etc). The regeneration project was supposed to regenerate, it is like trying to revive somebody who has been buried alive for ten years no chance. We are also looking to change council policy and would like your views on this. We are going to try and push plans that when the parish council meet they have to put the meeting on the rroka website and the residents have to vote on it instead of the closed shop voting the council have, this would stop there Ivory tower (leisure centre) from getting all the grants and money, and the money may then, go to something usefull. As for your comments on a new party to put the Great back into Great Britain we will have to find some people with the same intellect as the council, but where are we going to find plankton that stupid. Nice comments keep them coming.
We have an issue frequently with underaged drinking on the public footpath behind our two estates. They’re buying it from Rai’s or The stop n shop – why don’t we stop using them until the shopkeepers stop selling alcohol.
We now have the wacky baccie smokers and pill poppers.
I personaly wouldn’t want to be branded with the same intelect as this council,I couldn’t do half the things this dross does and hold my head up,let alone seek praise for how I waste public money on any whim that gets brought up in the darkened rooms of “fortress Labour!”
The council don’t understand that alcohol and teenagers don’t mix so they turn a blind eye to anything that is going to disrupt there routine they are to busy building more houses, so more people with teenagers can move in, buy alcohol and the vicious circle starts again. We have to have a good infrastructure before you build houses or anarchy will prevail because you cannot manage it. keep your comments coming we send a lot to our MP just to let her know we have’nt died .
I really dont think it’s the fault of the two shops mentioned…i think its the people who are of age that are buying alcohol for the underage who are at fault….ive actually seen it with my own eyes…some woman going into the shop, buying alcohol then handing it to the underage outside the shop. They ought to be ashamed..Ive also witnessed it in the co-op…a young girl was buying some can’s of beer, the assistant asked for ID..the girl had forgotten to put it in her purse..but managed to convince the assistant that she was 21…she didnt look a day over 16 to me…what happened…the girl was actually served the alcohol.
As for the police..whats the point in manning the police station in the day. Then from 5o’clock there is noboby there…POINTLESS!!!!!
Yes this is one of the problems we are encountering all around killamarsh.They do not seem to know the circumstances of buying underage kids drink. As for the police a lot of people have mentioned this, that they only see the police 9 to 5 . One of our residents reported two people stealing from a outside of a house, went to report it to the police, gave them the regisration number and told them it was a blue transit van. A bulletin was sent out but the police phoned the resident and said they could not find it but in the prevailing hours the resident saw the van another three times, where are they looking.
We have good well thought out patrol system for the PCSO’s. Between 3 and 4 pm daily. Even the latch key thugs are still en route from school at that time.
@fatbloke_2000_uk I have yet to see our “chocolate bobby”he can’t be bothered with the mountainous regions,but I have seen one in Clowne they’ve upgraded theirs he’s got a mountain bike complete with blue and yellow markings and a flashin blue light.YOU COULDN’T WRITE a story like this(only for small children they believe in such things)
@fatbloke_2000_uk
But dont’ forget these schoolies are twelve going on thirteen so we need real tough Bobbies for that time of day.When the weekend comes and the really tough teenagers start causing havoc, the best thing is not to have any Bobbies at all, that always works to deter the thugs.
@SipsiCymreig
Chocolate bobby, is he the one that looks like a Ferrero Roche’ or milk tray man If I was a vandal or hooligan I would absolutely love someone like that to scare me, We need a good deterant not a come look at my puppies approach, keep comments coming. PS the bobby from Clowne should be spelt Clown.
@newt
I’m afraid it is – i see a group of lads still at school – so that makes
them underage,with boxes of stell or whatever is on offer. They have walked from the direction of the aforementioned shops towards Bryony.It makes a change last years it was 6 girls with the little blue carrier bags with bottles of Lambrini. Now they may not be trouble causers or anti social but it’s still illegal.
So whats up with the parents do they all have broken nose’s…if my child came home after necking a couple of cans of booze im sure i would smell it on them..
@Newt
Not only smelling it, but you can tell right away by there actions and demeanour,the parents cannot be that naive to think nothings wrong.
The local drug dealer favours a motor scooter for peddling his wares btw.
Everyone knows who he is – but the police seem incapable of doing anything about it..
@fatbloke_2000_uk
Yes but its a lot easier for them to slip down alley ways if there being chased they have to make a living you know, and we think thats why the police let them go the poor dears.
Youths drinking at the bottom of Church lane again. This is a regular occurrence and the police just do not seem interested. Called the police. They showed up, took some alcohol off the youths that hadn’t ran away and then left. The remainder of the group then returned and are now worse than before. Call the police again…………
What is the point of an alcohol exclusion zone if the youths are not going to be moved or returned home in the riot van and handed to their parents with a stern warning.

What about the pets and wildlife thats being shot with overpowered airguns thats owned by the low lifes in this village this is there sport while they are waiting to harvest there home grown skunk no one reports this to the police as they are scared of being targets themselves.
