Parked cars in killamarsh

This car was parked an hour on a friday near a crossing and the warden was nowhere to be seen. Any comments on the danger of parking please comment

It annoyed me a little actually, i usually park there.

Nice Lol… Made me chuckle!
@Matt
One doesn’t like to take everything too seriously – unlike those parking on the pavement at the PO to use the cash point or outside the chippie.
@fatbloke_2000_uk
You can park anywhere as long as it blocks the pavement and your car is good to look at.
@Manager
Apparently so. I know a property who have just had an extension built which has eaten up half of the driveway. All legally sanctioned by the council.
The owners now have to park their second car half on the footpath and half on the road;which is illegal,it’s also within 25 metres of a main junction which is also a no no according to the Highway Code. Surely this should have been addressed at the planning stage.
It makes me angry at this crossing – not only do people obstruct it, but the typical Killamarsh Erk jumps out into the road without looking! Surely the Hedgehog 'Green Cross Code' Reached the Marsh!
Im not surprised cars are parking illegally. I went into the car park near the chemist yesterday and nearly pulled my wheel off…the are massive potholes and you just cant avoid them…..ITS A DISGRACE…Does any one know who is responsible for this carpark????????
pretty sure that one's nothing to do with the council – probably the shops on Sheffield Road as it's the access to a few of them – Akhtars, Admiral, Bookies, Bathrooms, Chemist , possibly event the Coop Funeral on Bridge Street too. Some or all of these shops may be rented/leased from the same company and as landlord it may be there responsibility to sort. Any signs up absolving liability in the car park?
Thanks for your observations, we had a problem a couple of weeks ago with somebody going over on there ankle, and they emailed us to find something out about liability if it was any more serious. We are still looking into it and will let you know as soon as possible, It does look as though nobody is taking responibility as it is a shared carpark but we will get to the bottom of it if at all possible thanx.

oh my giddy aunt if you inform thiis village of potholes raised paviors ect the magic stick gang will decend on these said areas like a swarm of human locusts in a bid to top up their injury claims. Not all oscar winners go to cannes
I take it the magic stick is the pretend walking stick when going to see the Doctor, then go and have a game of Squash, or do a half marathon after you've seen him. By the way well done Rooster on winning the general knowledge quiz

Called down there Sunday night and noticed the various signs on the walls:
The car park was originally marked with white parking areas and the entrance had crossed yellow hatching to indicate no parking – but that must be over 10 years old.
Good Morning RROKA
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the car park at the rear of the shop units off Bridge Street/Sheffield Road.
The car park you refer to is not owned by Killamarsh Parish Council and is therefore not the Council’s responsibility to maintain.
My understanding is that the car park belongs to the person/company that leases some of the shop units out but unfortunately, I do not have any further information about this.
Regards
Paul

This is one of the emails we have had from the council, we have been enquiring into this as some things seem really odd about ownership and who set the lines for the car park originally. Everybody seems to shun the responsibility.
From the Land Registry
Bathinity – 189, Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, Sheffield, S21 1DX
* (1)
191, Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, Sheffield, S21 1DX
Akhtars – 193, Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, Sheffield, S21 1DX
There are records for three separate properties adjacent to the car park although the Funeral Directors on Bridge Street doesnt appear to have any information available – the details of the owners can be downloaded from the Registry
Thanx we allready have this info, its pinning the tail on the Donkey we need to do. Wheels are in motion but very slow as you can gather.
Hope you all have noticed the car park is now done pot holes all filled in,with a little bit of pressure things get done, the liability issues will stop now and no more twisted ankles or stubbing of toes thanks for the emails.
Put a caravan,transit van,half a dozen dogs and a few large gas bottles on there you'll soon find out who owns it, they'll have a writ in the post to move you on before you've had time to boil the kettle.(does anyone want to buy some clothes pegs or have their fortune told got any old gold they don't want?)
We might try that next time. We dont need any pegs we hang ours on the bushes, and we've got plenty of gold we get a lot from the plumbing in houses.
